Terms of Service

Last updated: July 10, 2026

These Terms govern your use of yourownbooks.com and any programs, courses, or products offered by Tax Practice Consulting, Inc. DBA Your Own Books (“Your Own Books,” “we,” “us”). By using the site or enrolling, you agree to these Terms.

What we provide

Your Own Books provides educational content and professional-development programs for tax practitioners, including the Certified Tax Planning Practitioner (CTPP) program. Our materials are for education and professional development only.

Not professional advice; no professional relationship

Our content is general educational information. It is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and using the site or our programs does not create a CPA-client, attorney-client, or other professional or fiduciary relationship. You are responsible for how you apply what you learn and for verifying current law with the appropriate authorities.

The CTPP designation

The CTPP designation is a private credential offered by Your Own Books. It is not a state or federal license and does not authorize you to perform any work you could not already perform under your own credentials (PTIN, EA, CTEC, AFSP, or CPA). Continuing-education approvals are described on our Disclosures page.

Intellectual property

All course materials, text, graphics, and downloads are owned by us or our licensors and are provided for your individual professional use. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or create derivative training from them without written permission.

Purchases and refunds

Fees, payment terms, and eligibility are described at the point of enrollment. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site and programs are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the site or a program is limited to the amount you paid us for that program. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
